NEWS about Hearing Aid Sweat Band™
AHIHA Players competed in Finland at the second World Deaf Ice Hockey Championships, March 30-April 6.
Hearing Aid Sweat Band has been a big supporter of the American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association (AHIHA). The players were a part of the second World Deaf Ice Hockey Championships in Finland, March 30-April 6. All accounts express that the US Team were strong competitors, but unfortunately missed out on the Bronze medal to Finland in a 6-4 loss. The US Team played five games total, including the Bronze game against Finland, and preliminaries against Sweden, Canada and Russia. The gold medal was awarded to Russia after a 5-4 victory over Canada. When it was determined that the players would be competing in Finland at the World Championships, owner Scott VanBuskirk developed a special edition Hearing Aid Sweat Band featuring the American flag. Some of the players have already been customers of Hearing Aid Sweat Band, which gave the company even more reason to support the team in this endeavor. The AHIHA team won a Bronze medal in the 2009 World Deaf Ice Hockey Championships in Winnipeg. The team also won the gold at the 2007 Deaflympics in Salt Lake City. The AHIHA team follows the USA Deaf Sports Guidelines, including not being allowed to wear cochlear implants and hearing aids during play. To qualify for the games, athletes must have a hearing loss of at least 55 dB in their "better ear.”
